Removable bollards

Removable bollards are posts that keep a passage closed but can be opened by hand when needed: the bollard is unlocked with a key, lifted out or lowered, then put back once the vehicle has passed. They need no power and suit occasional service access. Unlike an automatic bollard, a removable bollard has no drive and no remote control.

How to choose removable bollards

• How it opens. TiSO RB345-03 lifts out completely after a turn of the key. TiSO RB345-62 stays in place: it is lowered and raised by its handle and locked with the supplied key. TiSO M30, M40, M50 and FAAC JS 48 R, JS 80 R have a removable cylinder.
• Protection level. RB345 models control parking traffic. Anti-ram TiSO models are designed for ASTM F2656 classes M30, M40 and M50; FAAC JS are certified to PAS 68, IWA 14-1 and ASTM F2656 with a P1 penetration rating.
• Height. 600 or 800 mm in the RB345 range, 800, 900 and 1000 mm for TiSO M30, M40 and M50, 1000 mm for FAAC JS.
• Weight. For installation and service, check the weight: FAAC JS 48 R weighs 180 kg, JS 80 R 320 kg.
• Embedded part. RB345-03 needs 290 mm installation depth. TiSO M30, M40 and M50 use a 2460×1460 mm underground structure set 300, 400 and 600 mm deep.
• Climate. RB345-62 is rated for −40…+60 °C; below −10 °C it needs a heater, above +40 °C a cooler.

Applications

Removable bollards close pedestrian streets and squares, parking near malls, shops and offices, and sites that need vehicle access only at certain hours, for example at night. Anti-ram models are installed together with automatic bollards or where access must be fully restricted; FAAC JS are built for perimeter security.

How do you remove a removable bollard?

On the TiSO RB345-03 you turn the key and lift the post out. The RB345-62 is unlocked with the key and lowered by its handle.

Removable or automatic bollard?

Choose a removable bollard for occasional or night-time access and where there is no power. If the entrance opens many times a day, an automatic bollard with a remote is more convenient.
