Tire-killers

Tire-killers are road blockers with spikes that puncture a vehicle's tire when attempting to pass in a prohibited direction or without permission. This is the most compact solution for access control: the design has no tall moving part and does not obstruct the view.

Such blockers are installed at entrances and exits of guarded territories, on service driveways, in places where movement against the direction must be excluded — at parking lots, gas stations, warehouse and customs areas.

What to look for when choosing:

• control method — automatic models open and block the passage by system signal, mechanical ones are switched manually
• scenario — constant flow control or protection only against oncoming traffic
• driveway width — determines the section length
• operating conditions — outdoor installation and operation in winter; permissible temperatures are specified in the model specifications
• piping — traffic light column, sensors, and warning signs so the driver can see the passage mode
