Rotary turnstiles

A half height turnstile is a rotary barrier that lets people through one at a time at checkpoints, in offices and at open-air sites. Its wings turn on a central axis by a fixed angle per passage, so each credential admits one person. At 1050–1314 mm it is lower than floor-to-ceiling models; wings, not tripod arms, close the lane.

How to choose a half height turnstile

• Passage width — 560 mm on the STAR series, 533 mm on CYCLONE-L.
• Throughput — 20–40 people/min in single access mode, 60–120 in free access mode, depending on the version.
• Location — STAR is for indoor use, with an IP54 outdoor version on request; CYCLONE-L is for open-air sites, from +1 °C.
• Material — brushed AISI 304 stainless steel as standard; AISI 316, polishing, RAL powder coating or, for CYCLONE-L, hot-dip galvanizing on request.
• Rotor wings — steel (STAR-TS) or glass (STAR-GS); CYCLONE-L has a 120° or optional 90° angle between wings (dual-lane version: 120° only).
• Evacuation — a rotor cannot open the passage fully, so a Gate series wicket is installed alongside.

How much does a half height turnstile cost?

It depends on the model and options; each price is shown on the model page, and we quote installation per project.

Can a rotary turnstile be installed outdoors?

Yes, but only specific models come in an outdoor version: CYCLONE-L is designed for open-air sites, STAR comes in an IP54 version. Both are rated from +1 °C (CYCLONE-L) or +5 °C (STAR) to +40 °C, so winter outdoor use is agreed per site.

What happens during a power cut?

The rotor turns freely and does not block the passage.

Will it work with our access control system?

Yes, the models work with any access control system; STAR can be fitted with RFID, biometric or QR readers on request.
